All Voting is Local
I was enlisted along with 4 other Michigan based artists (Bill Ferenc, Rachelle Baker, Octavia Ink, and Lauren Hom) to work on a campaign to raise awareness about expanded voting options in our state. Four of us were assigned a voting persona which represented one method for casting your vote. My slogan was “Get That Sticker,” for casting your ballot in person on election day. We each were given a main color to work with; mine was orange. The artwork and its elements were used as posters and in mailings leading up to the 2024 election.

The client wanted to evoke an “activist” vibe, feeling energetic and exciting. My goal was to communicate this by infusing movement into the composition.
Fun Fact: My Voting Persona actually matched how i vote IRL
I vote the same way every election: I get up early, grab my things, and walk over to my precinct right when it opens. I’m so lucky to have had my voting location a few minute’s walk away for years now and the lines are pretty tame in the early hours. It also feels really good to be within the first hundred or thousand at my polling location. For me, starting the day voting on Election Day is a hopeful way to kick it off.
